Both partners must be 18 or older to use Simply Married Online. If either partner is under 18, contact Utah County directly about eligibility and additional requirements before applying. We do not provide ceremonies for minors.
Neither partner may still be legally married to someone else. Separation or filing for divorce is not enough. A divorce must be final before marrying again.

What happens during the five-minute online ceremony?
Your officiant welcomes everyone, explains what to expect, and guides both partners through their declarations and the pronouncement. The live ceremony typically takes about five minutes, with clear guidance throughout so the moment feels comfortable, personal, and complete.
The five-minute estimate refers only to the live ceremony. Applying for the Utah County marriage license, completing identity requirements, booking, and the officiant's submission afterward are separate steps.

Booking policies
Cancellation, rescheduling & refunds.
Please review these terms before scheduling your ceremony.
Cancellation
You may cancel your ceremony at any time. To qualify for a refund, the cancellation request must be received before your scheduled ceremony time.
Rescheduling
You may reschedule your ceremony. New dates and times are subject to availability. If you change to a differently priced package, any price difference will apply.
Refunds
Ceremony package payments are refundable when cancellation is requested before the scheduled ceremony time. Payments are not refundable at or after the scheduled ceremony time or after the ceremony has been completed.
Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method. Processing time is determined by the payment processor and the customer’s financial institution. Utah County marriage-license fees and other third-party fees are separate from the ceremony package and are not controlled by Simply Married Online.

Do you offer in-person weddings?+
No. All Simply Married Online ceremonies take place by live video. Our officiant hosts from Utah, while the couple and their two adult witnesses join remotely. We do not offer in-person ceremonies.
Can we join from another state or country?+
Yes, many couples participate from elsewhere in the United States or abroad. The ceremony is hosted by an authorized officiant physically present in Utah and uses a Utah County marriage license. Everyone must be able to see and hear one another live. International recognition and document requirements vary, so confirm the rules where the marriage will be used before booking.
Do we need witnesses?+
Yes. Two witnesses who are at least 18 years old must attend the live video ceremony. They do not need to be in the same physical location.
What do we need before booking?+
You need a valid Utah County marriage license that has not expired, two adult witnesses, and a device and internet connection that allow the officiant, both partners, and both witnesses to see and hear one another live. The ceremony fee does not include Utah County's marriage-license fee or other third-party document fees.
Does the entire process take five minutes?+
The live ceremony is approximately five minutes. Applying for the marriage license, identity checks, booking, and officiant submission are separate steps.
Will our marriage be recognized outside the United States?+
Recognition depends on the laws of the country involved. We cannot guarantee foreign or immigration recognition. Contact the appropriate government authority or a qualified attorney for guidance.
What happens after the ceremony?+
The officiant completes the online submission. Utah County then processes the marriage record and issues the couple's certificate. Timing and delivery of additional certified or authenticated documents are controlled by the county and other issuing authorities.
